The City Council of Córdoba and the Union of Processional Music Bands of Córdoba, which is chaired by Sebastián Giraldo, have designed a concert series which will be developed during this last quarter of the year, within the collaboration agreement that began last year, with great success in terms of public participation.
The Promotion delegate of the Córdoba City Council, Marián Aguilar, considers that “the agreement with the Union of Gangs has been consolidated and is helping the processional music bands of Córdoba to develop its important work both in the cultural sphere, of our traditions, as well as social”.
For his part, the president of the Union of Processional Music Bands of Córdoba, Sebastián Giraldo, stated that “we are very grateful to the Promotion Delegation of the Córdoba City Council and to Marián Aguilar for their decisive support of the city’s bands. A support that the bands translate into greater activity, in improvements for the conditioning of the rehearsal rooms and in continuing to work with all the human capital that make up the groups for culture, values, tradition and music”.
This cycle of concerts will start on October 23, as the eve of the festival of San Rafael, with the participation of the following bands in different areas of the city: The Band of Horns and Drums Coronación de Espinas will perform at 12:00 in the Plaza del Triunfo; for its part, the Musical Group Nuestro Padre Jesús de la Redención, at 12:30, can be heard in the Campo San Antón Gardens (Triunfo San Rafael). The Band of Bugles and Drums Our Lady of Health will perform at 1:45 p.m. in the Plaza de Capuchinos and, to close this commemoration of San Rafael, the Band of Bugles and Drums Nuestro Padre Jesús Caído and Nuestra Señora de la Fuensanta will play in the Plaza del Potro at 18:00.
Coinciding with the festivity of Santa Cecilia The following concerts will be held: On Saturday, November 19 at 5:00 p.m., the Cristo del Amor Music Band will perform at the door of the Superior Conservatory of Music. At 18:00 you can enjoy the Bugles and Drums Band Our Lady of Health, in the Plaza de la Compañía. That same day at 7:00 p.m. in the Plaza de Juan Bernier, the Bugles and Drums Band Our Father Jesus the Fallen and Our Lady of Fuensanta will perform. And finally, at 9:00 p.m., the Coronation of Thorns Band of Bugles and Drums in Plaza de Jerónimo Páez.
On Sunday, November 20 at 12:00, the Musical Group Nuestro Padre Jesús de la Fe en su Sagrada Cena can be heard in the Plaza de las Cañas and at the same time in the Plaza de la Compañía the Santísimo Cristo de la Fe Musical Group will perform. Grace. This cycle will close on Saturday, November 26with a performance by the Musical Group Nuestro Padre Jesús de la Redención in the Plaza de Cañero, at 8:45 p.m.
Likewise, the Union of Processional Music Bands of Córdoba will be present in various Christmas events, thus, the La Estrella Music Band will participate in the inauguration of the Christmas lightsthe Santísimo Cristo de Gracia Musical Group will accompany the Royal Portfolio and three bands will participate in the Cavalcade of Three Wise Men, on January 5, the Santísimo Cristo del Amor Music Band, the Nuestro Padre Jesús de la Fe Musical Group in its Sacred Dinner and the La Estrella Music Band.
