The XV World Harp Festival begins with talks and concerts

This Friday officially kicks off the 15th edition of the World Harp Festival. For three days, the public will be able to enjoy free concerts and workshops for all ages, as well as a free meeting of musicians.

Sixto Corbalán, artistic director of the event, expressed emotion before another edition of the World Harp Festival: “We have artists for all musical tastes; It is a varied, wide, diverse, eclectic and very professional festival. The festival is the ideal moment to live the experience, during these three days, of listening to the harp in all its formats”.

Likewise, the organizers invite you to take advantage of the workshops, which are the academic ingredient of the festival.

Corbalán also highlights the crossing of artists: “It is a space that we created with our peñas in mind, which are very common in gatherings of popular musicians, others call it jam. Within the festival, this activity is a unique and unrepeatable moment, and it is becoming one of the distinctive elements of the event”.

The crossing will be on Saturday, October 8 at 11:30 p.m., at Jazz Cube, with the presentation of Band’Delaschicas and the festival’s artists, who will treat the public to a meeting that, in the words of Corbalán, is “an unexplored union and invites us to immerse ourselves in the magic of fusion”.

Ixto Corbalán comments that, currently, interpreters of this instrument wish to participate in the outstanding international event, born from the hand of Ana Scappini, executive director; and Marlene Sosa Lugo, culture enthusiast. Both took the initiative of the harpist Rito Pedersen and together they sought to turn Asunción into the World Capital of the Harp.
