The Red Hot Chili Peppers 2022 tour includes a concert at Petco Park in San Diego; here are all the dates and cities

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are hitting the road in a big way in 2022 for a summer stadium tour of North America. The coast-to-coast tour will celebrate — delayed a year, due to the coronavirus pandemic — the 30th anniversary of the Los Angeles band’s 1991 album, Blood Sugar Sex Magik.

The 19-city tour kicks off with a date on Saturday, July 23 at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, followed by a show on Wednesday, July 27 at Petco Park in San Diego with opening acts Haim and Thundercat. The four-man band will perform two more concerts in California: Friday, July 29 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara and Sunday, July 31 at So-Fi Stadium in Los Angeles.

Ticket information and a list of all concert dates and cities appear at the end of this article. The North American leg will be preceded by a European stadium tour starting on Saturday June 4 in Seville, Spain and ending on Tuesday July 12 in Hamburg. Germany,

The tour, produced by Live Nation, was initially planned for 2020. Former Peppers guitarist John Frusciante is once again replacing Josh Klinghoffer. Frusciante joined the group in 1988 and left in 1991. He rejoined in 1998 for a second spell that lasted until 2009, then rejoined in early 2020.

Frusciante is one of seven guitarists to have played in the now 38-year-old band, which was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.

The rest of the Red Hot Chili Peppers lineup hasn’t changed: vocalist Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea and drummer Chad Smith.

Tickets for the San Diego concert and all other tour dates will go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday, October 15. Ticket prices for the Petco Park concert range from $49.50 to $199.50, plus service charges.

There will be several presales for the Petco Park concert and all other tour dates. A presale for American Express card members will run from 10 a.m. Friday, October 8 through 10 p.m. Thursday, October 14, while a presale for Live Nation, Ticketmaster, the concert venue and stations local radio stations will take place on October 14 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The eight San Diego radio stations that Live Nation hopes will participate in the presale are 91X-FM, KXSN-FM, KIOZ-FM, KGB-FM , KFBG-FM, XMOR-FM, XGLX-FM and KLQV-FM.

Fans who sign up for the Red Hot Chili Peppers mailing list on the band’s website will be eligible for a presale running from 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 9 through 10 p.m. on October 14. October. Those who sign up will receive an email with a pre-sale code.

There will also be a presale for San Diego Padres Season Pass holders and Friar’s Club members, beginning October 14. Codes for that presale will be emailed that same morning.

It was originally scheduled for 2020, then was postponed until this summer, and then postponed again until next year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
