The Panticosa International Festival celebrates its tenth anniversary with great concerts and musical excursions

The International Festival of Panticosa Touching the sky returns again to the peaks of the Aragonese Pyrenees to become an international reference for classical music. The tenth edition of a festival that unites music and nature in a unique and wonderful setting. The festival will offer diverse and varied activities for music lovers that will be held in the spaces of the Panticosa Spa, as well as in the town between the days July 17 to July 23.

After 10 years, with an unbeatable track record, the festival once again shows off its artistic level: the person in charge of opening this tenth edition will be the Venezuelan mezzo-soprano of Canarian origin, Nancy Fabiola Herrera, which will offer a concert on July 17 at 7:30 p.m. She will not do it alone, the pianist will be with her Ruben Fernandez Aguirre to present his new album daydreams.

Today the program was presented at the Provincial Council of Huesca, where the deputy delegate for Culture, Maribel de Pablo, highlighted that “it is a very special festival, and this year even more so”. A festival that contributes to “Huesca having already become a cultural benchmark”.

The festival this year is structured in several cycles: great concerts, jazztangueando, vermouth concert and the festival off. “There are so many activities in our programming that we have to expand and have new scenarios,” he said. The director of the Panticosa Spa, Jesús González, participated in the presentation, highlighting the value of the event and recalling the connection between the recently disappeared Teresa Berganza with the festival. “We knew that she was very happy every time she came to Panticosa”. Carmen Esteban also had a few words about Teresa Berganza and also for Antón García Abril, who passed away last year and “both were very close to the festival and carried our name everywhere”. Cycle of Great Concerts

Francisco Antonio Garcia Y Seikilos Quartet, Albéniz Trio, Neuma Quartet, Elian Trio and the concert disconcerting with Violincheli Brothers Y Charter Jazz Trio make up the bulk of the cycle of Great Concerts. But the Panticosa Festival this year is much more. Among the activities that fill the program, other cycles stand out, such as jazz tangoing with the rhythms and dances of Iberotango and the conversations of Humberto Rodriguez and Pablo Rios. Musical excursions and artistic gatherings

And the Panticosa Festival still has another cycle to celebrate this tenth anniversary: ​​the festival-off, full of activities related to art and nature. Among the novelties, the artistic excursions stand out to listen to music between the Pyrenean peaks after touring the Footbridges, some spectacular hanging steps in the wall of the gorge itself in a route of 800 meters. The excursion will end enjoying a formidable concert by the clarinetist and composer Dani Blazquez, in one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the Valley. A second excursion will go through the Valle de la Ripera and will finish listening to the empty suitcases by Pato Badaín and Daniel Escolano. In addition, several artistic gatherings stand out with the painter Eva Armisén, but also of a literary nature with the writers Manuel Vilas, Ana Merino, among others.

One of the highlights of this cycle is the collaboration that the Panticosa Festival maintains this year with the Huesca International Film Festival and that will enable two screenings: ‘Goya, May 3’, by Carlos Saura; and the Palmares of the 50th anniversary of the Huesca Film Festival.

Classical music is for all kinds of audiences and with that idea the Orchestral Workshop was born ropes to heaven and the workshops Rock me, growing with the music. These activities are intended to integrate children in a joint and sensory musical experience. After a few days of meeting, the young people will show their work with great enthusiasm in the Church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen in Panticosa town. Estrella Morente and the Duo Moreno Gistain close the festival

And as a final culmination, on July 23 at 10:30 p.m. with a tribute to the writer María Lejárraga, Estrella Morente will offer a concert. The cantaora gives voice to a woman whose husband was responsible for signing her plays for a long time. Years later we learned that Lejárraga, teacher and first deputy in the Second Republic, was the writer of such relevant works as the libretto of Amor Brujo that Manuel de Falla wrote to Pastora Imperio in 1915.
