The SIA AWARDS “Living Condition” Trophy rewards a company committed since 2017 to aging well, through the many actions carried out within the beguinages of the Vivr’Alliance group.
A Europe-wide competition
SIA (Sustainable Investment in Action) was created to bring recognition, commitment and financial support to impact projects led by European investors.
As such, it organizes each year, after an application has been submitted and a selection by a jury of experts, an award ceremony in several categories defined according to the United Nations SDGs. 150 candidates took part in this European competition and the Vivr’Alliance group won in the “Living conditions” category..
The project was first presented to more than 600 investors, media and influencers through a short video sequence. The Option Finance conference, in partnership with the Institut de France was held on Tuesday May 17 in Paris, after which the prizes were awarded in the various categories.

PLAYERS
Vivre en Béguinage association rewarded
The association Vivre en Béguinage, created in 2017 by the founders of the Vivr’Alliance group, carries the project of social and shared life in the beguinages. It accompanies people upstream of the project by organizing “Discovery Days” during which the Charter of Life is drawn up, the true basis of life in the beguinage and the shared life project of future residents.
Recognized as being of general interest since 2020, it implements, within the beguinages, actions essential to aging well on the themes of Living Together, health prevention and the preservation of autonomy, social inclusion, security and solidarity.

It coordinates these actions with local stakeholders (organizations, institutions and associations, etc.) and relies, to implement them within the beguinages, on the coordinator of social and shared life.professional in human relations and the health guide, state-certified nurse who both intervene every week with crushes during collective workshops or individual appointments.
Vivr’Alliance the designer of beguinages
The Vivr’Alliance group, founded in 2012 by Thierry Prédignac, Christophe Baiocco and Vincent Bel, and supported by the social and solidarity economy (Amundi FCP Finances et Solidarité and the Banque des Territoires) now builds beguinages throughout the country. and Overseas. No less than thirty are planned by 2025.
THE CONCEPT
The beguinage, a safe place between benevolence and autonomy

the beguinage, this new form of housing for seniors “in tune with the times” is arousing real enthusiasm. It allows autonomous seniors or seniors with a partial loss of autonomy, linked to age or disability, to break their isolation and maintain or create a social bond.
A model of inclusive housing backed by a social and shared life project, the beguinage makes it possible to live like at home, in a secure way and in complete autonomy in an apartment or a single-storey house with 2 or 3 rooms, while benefiting from common living areas.
Places of benevolence, solidarity and interdependencethe beguinages offer a concrete, human and social project to live well one’s “3rd life”.
A beguinage in Perpignan in 2023
The Vivr’Alliance group opened its first modern beguinage in 2014 in Perpignan to respond to the wish of a group of seniors to experience their retirement differently. In 2023, a new beguinage will see the light of day in Perpignan in the Moulin à Vent district and will offer autonomous seniors 23 low-rent housing units, from one-bedroom to one-bedroom apartments, backed by shared living spaces.
To meet demand, other projects (Tarbes, Onet-le-Château, Bazet) are also underway in Occitania.

THE CHALLENGE
Habitat API, a major societal issue
In 2030, with more than 23% of the population retired, the challenge will not only be to live longer, but also to stay in good health, while maintaining an active place in society.. The beguinage proves to be an innovative, complementary response, a missing link between ordinary housing and accommodation in institutions or retirement homes, to preserve people’s autonomy for as long as possible by integrating them in particular into the life of the city. .
Life in a beguinage is a concept acclaimed by experts on aging well and summarized by Dr Olivier de Ladoucette in his report to the Ministry of Health in the spring of 2011.
The revival of beguinages based on living together and revisited with regard to today’s needs is the perfect response to the API habitat defined in the Denis Piveteau report, and thus becomes a pillar of aging well.
