Renowned international pianist, José Luís Nieto, will give a free concert in Costa Rica

  • The international pianist will offer a free concert in San José and will visit Palmares and Turrialba where he will give talks for students and professionals in musical arts.

The Spanish pianist José Luis Nieto will visit Costa Rica from June 1 to 3, where he will have a series of free events organized by the Cultural Work of the Ibero-American University Foundation (FUNIBER) as part of his tour of Central America where he will also will visit: Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, among other countries.

José Luís Nieto has performed in the most significant musical institutions in the world, highlighting his concerts in Russia, New York and various countries in Europe, the Middle East and Latin America, which has made him acquire a great professional background, which is reflected in the publication of his eight recordings that have received notable recognition from specialized critics. Nieto is one of the great references as an international concert artist, and in January 2018 he was appointed academician of the Academy of Performing Arts of Spain.

The visit of the international concert artist is an initiative of FUNIBER, the University of Costa Rica, the Embassy of Spain in our country and the Ministry of Culture and Youth.

A free, unmissable concert

As part of his visit to Costa Rica, Nieto will offer spectators the concert “Pasión de Falla”, by the outstanding Spanish Composer Manuel de Falla y Matheu (Cádiz, November 23, 1876-Alta Gracia, Argentina, November 14, 1946). ), of musical nationalism, one of the most important of the first half of the 20th century, the musical pieces by the Spanish composer Manuel de Falla that you will be able to enjoy are: “El sombrero de tres piso”, “El amor brujo” and “Fantasía Betic”.

The free concert will be held in the Aula Magna of the University of Costa Rica, in San José, on Friday, June 3 at 7:00 pm with a dedication to the College of Agricultural Engineers for its eightieth anniversary. To participate, people can register at the following link:
