Queen Bad Bunny one more year on Spotify

Mexico City.- For the third consecutive year, Spotify users enjoyed the sound of “Bad Bunny”.

As was the case in 2020 and 2021, Bad Bunny was the most listened to artist on the platform globally in the year that just ended. The numbers show that, in general, tastes did not change.

Taylor Swift repeated in 2022 in the second position of the artists with the most listeners, while BTS and Drake once again entered the top five that the audience liked the most, according to information from the streaming brand.

The most listened to albums worldwide were novelties: A Summer Without You, by Bunny, and Harry’s House, by Harry Styles, set the pace, but behind them were releases dating from 2021: Sour, by Olivia Rodrigo; =, by Ed Sheeran, and Planet Her, by Doja Cat, in that order.

That’s not to say the top songs belonged to the top-streamed musicians: Styles’ “As It Was” topped the tally, followed by Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves” and “Stay” (featuring Justin Bieber), from The Kid Laroi.

In general, the urban music prevailed in the world, since Bunny’s “Me Porto Bonito” was the fourth most listened to in the world and occupies the same position in the United States.

He also liked Bizarrap’s song with Quevedo “Quevedo: Bzrp Music Sessions, vol. 52”, which was the most reproduced in Argentina and Spain.

Kate Bush’s revival on the series Stranger Things led to her 1985 hit “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” becoming the fifth most played song in the UK.

Despite the fact that BTS rose from fifth to third place in listeners on the platform, no track from the group entered the top five most listened to in South Korea. Of course, “With You”, by Jimin, a member of the popular group, was the third most heard in her country.

Stand out in Mexico

Bad Bunny was the most heard artist in Mexico; his album Un Verano Sin Ti, the one with the most reproductions, and four songs from the material were the most popular in the country: “Me Porto Bonito”, “Tití Me Preguntó”, “Ojillos Lindos” and “Efecto”, in that order.

But they not only conquered their novelties, since their 2020 albums YHLQMDLG (Yo Hago Lo Que Me Da La Gana) and El Último Tour del Mundo ranked as the second and fourth most listened to nationally.

2022 may not have been the best year in personal terms for Christian Nodal, but, as in the previous one, he was the most listened to Mexican in the world, and his song “Ya No Somos Ni Seremos” was the national song with the most you listen.

Grupo Firme was the Mexican artist with the most listeners in the country and the second internationally, after Nodal, but Mexican taste also elevated the warlike corridos of Luis R. Conriquez, who even dedicated a song to Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán .
