Monday October 10, the first music station in France unveiled the list of nominees for the 24th edition of the “NRJ Music Awards” which will take place on Friday November 18 at 9:10 p.m., live from the Palais des festivals and congresses in Cannes. In the process, fans of M. Pokora, Kendji Girac, Amel Bent and many others were invited to vote massively – and daily – for their favorite artist (s). But now, a new rule provoked the anger of communities on social networks.

NRJ waives premium SMS
For the first time in more than twenty years, you had to pay to make your voice heard at the “NRJ Music Awards”. Indeed, to avoid any fraud or cheating on the part of the fans, NRJ required for the first time a certification of each voter. Problem: to have access to the voting platform, Internet users had to send a surcharged SMS (0.75€ per SMS + cost of the SMS for France, 0.50€ per SMS sent +€0.50 per SMS received for the Belgium). Faced with the outcry caused on social networks, NRJ decided to change its tune. Since this Thursday, October 13, the SMS imposed to certify his account on NRJ.fr is no longer surcharged. Something to reassure the (young) fans of the ceremony.
