KBC Mobile has once again been voted the best mobile banking app in Belgium by the independent international research firm Sia Partners.
KBC Mobile is also in the top 3 worldwide.
The independent international research firm Sia Partners has once again named KBC Mobile as the best mobile banking & insurance app in Belgium in its 2022 survey
Mobile Banking Benchmark: a worldwide study on the present state of mobile banking
. KBC Mobile further strengthened its leading position compared to last year. Globally, KBC completes the top three. Sia Partners confirms that Europe is the most competitive region for mobile banking.
Sia Partners interviewed no less than 151 banks in 22 countries, which allows the survey to give a representative and up-to-date image of the Mobile Banking market. In recent years, KBC has already been awarded several times in the annual survey by Sia Partners. As a crowning achievement, KBC Mobile was elected
World’s best mobile banking app
in 2021. This year, the survey gave less importance to insurance (an area where KBC Mobile obtains a very good score); as a result, KBC Mobile finds itself in 3rd position.
To designate the winner, Sia Partners based itself on three major criteria: the functionalities of the application, its user-friendliness (“User Experience”) and its score in the app stores. Sia Partners’ conclusion on the KBC Mobile banking app is unequivocal:
“The KBC app offers a complete offer that goes beyond the simple integration of the necessary products and services (Open & Beyond Banking). Investment of your spare change, application for a renovation/energy loan, fully automated claims settlement of car accidents and sharing of group expenses: all these operations are done in no time and in a very user-friendly way.”
Sia Partners also explicitly refers to Kate, the unique personal digital assistant, which helps clients save money and time.
Karin Van Hoecke, Director Digital Transformation & Data at KBC Belgium,
sees in this enduring top ranking the culmination of the hard work of the last few years:
The fact that with KBC Mobile we are reaffirming and strengthening our position as digital leader in Belgium in the Sia Partners ranking is not only recognition of the quality of our service, but also a sign that we remain committed to innovation and in our desire to relieve the customers. Our extensive user support, multiple payment solutions and most advanced range of services
from third parties
, which relieve customers and help them save time and money, are rightly cited by Sia Partners as KBC Mobile’s unique points. With our digital apps and with Kate, we save customers time and money. Currently, more than 1.9 million customers already make active and daily use of KBC Mobile: this observation can only encourage us to offer them an ever better service. We thank all our customers for their trust. Even if you are not yet a KBC customer, you can use the KBC Mobile app without needing to have a KBC banking or insurance product.
Sia Partners’ methodology is transparent, consistent and unequivocal
The digitization of financial services continues at a rapid pace everywhere, under the effect of multiple factors: emergence of new technologies, increased customer expectations, new players, digital currencies, regulatory changes… Bitcoin, ESG, neobanks, Open Data and crypto are some of the trends that are shaking up the traditional banking market. Based on these findings, Sia Partners studied the ability of financial institutions to respond to these challenges through mobile banking.
The final score that Sia Partners assigns to a mobile banking app is the result of the partial scores in terms of features offered in the application, user experience (UX) and scores obtained in the app stores. The survey measured a total of over 85 different criteria in 13 categories. The main features of
are assessed, including opening an account, day-to-day banking, signing up for a new product or service, investing, and closing an account.
Sia Partners once again comes to the conclusion that European banks are the most competitive when it comes to mobile banking services. They are the precursors of digitalization thanks to their innovative services and their complete offer.
