Annually, the School of Creative Music holds the Winter Festival. It is an event in which multiple groups participate and their students interpret the repertoire they have been working on throughout the last semester.
These are six weeks in which the Sala BarCo will witness concerts that include the different styles taught at the school. An excellent opportunity for family, friends and music fans to attend, with free admission.
Free concerts at Sala BarCo
The Winter Festival of the School of Creative Music, which began on the night of January 25, will offer free concerts for six weeks at Sala BarCo, in the heart of Malasaña. Every Wednesday and Thursday, students from the different groups, called “combos”, will present the topics they have prepared in their classes in recent months.
In this way, students have the opportunity to face live performances, some of them for the first time and others like true professional musicians, on a club stage with live music.
The Winter Festival is also a great opportunity for live music fans to attend, free of charge, a series of concerts that include surprising proposals. Among them, special arrangements of well-known themes and original compositions in a wide variety of styles: pop, rock, jazz, Latin, electronic music, folk, etc. The program is available on the website of the Winter Festival of the School of Creative Music.
Musical preparation for all levels
The Escuela de Música Creativa is considered a benchmark in the field of music education in Spain. Much of that success is due to its well-structured curriculum and practice-based educational philosophy from day one.
It is open for the study of people of any age. From their arrival at school until they are 14 years old, teachers use the necessary tools and pedagogical strategies to achieve adequate musical stimulation. During this time, they are in charge of awakening the critical thinking, social skills and expressiveness of the little ones.
They also have basic musical training plans designed for young people and adults. These can vary to fit the interests of each student. Likewise, they have a professional study program that culminates in the LOE Professional Title, which is officially valid. Students who complete their studies at the School can continue their official higher education at the Centro Superior Música Creativa, which offers Degrees in Contemporary Music and Jazz Performance, Composition for Audiovisual Media, as well as a Master’s Degree in Flamenco Performance.
At Escuela de Música Creativa they have a large staff of teachers who provide added value to learning, based on their real experiences as musicians.
