Bunbury cancels the rest of his farewell concerts, including those in Southern California

On February 28, the legendary Spanish rocker Enrique Bunbury broke news that fell like a bucket of cold water on his many followers: the worsening of throat problems that had affected him for several years, and about which little was known. or nothing on a public level, they forced him to make the difficult decision to give up live performances altogether.

However, the withdrawal would not be automatic, because, in that same statement, the former vocalist of Heroes del Silencio announced that he would honor the commitments on stage that were already acquired, which would supposedly allow him to say goodbye in his country of origin, but that it will be presented before that on various American stages, including the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles (the city in which it currently resides, unless things have changed) on May 27 and the House of Blues in Anaheim of June 6.

Amidst the sadness of the announcement, fans were excited at the thought of being able to give their idol a fair sendoff; But all those plans went to the water today, when the man from Zaragoza turned again to his accounts on social networks to publish the following statement.

“When we announced the concerts of El Último Tour two months ago, we wanted to fulfill the commitments previously made, both in the United States and in Spain. With Latin America we were on time since no agreement had yet been closed.

Given the events, we tried to reduce both the tour of the USA and that of Spain, while leaving as much time as possible between concerts, to ensure -as much as possible- that the voice could respond.

A few days ago we started the first of the shows of this farewell tour in New York, continuing in Atlanta. Both were two fabulous concerts, both for the public and for us, I think I can say with some pride.

Unfortunately, today, in Chicago, one day before the show at the Rosemont, we have to announce that we will not be able to continue with the tour. My throat and breathing problems increased and came back sharply last night and what I thought was going to be controlled is totally out of my hands and desires.

At this point, we do not consider any more cancellations, nor postpone any more concerts. With all the pain in my heart I have to anticipate what I already saw imminent. It is impossible for me to do more concerts. I understand that many of you bought tickets for a North American tour that was already sold out and a Spanish tour that aimed at the same thing.

You can return the tickets where you purchased them. I hope for your understanding, at this painful moment for me and my team.

It is not known what will happen in the future, but there is no doubt that the popular singer, who has brought countless joys to several generations of music lovers and is the author of many of the greatest pieces of rock in Spanish, is not having a good time. right now, so it is essential to sympathize with him and send him all possible wishes for improvement.

Nor is it very clear whether his ailments are physical or psychological; he himself seems not to know, as he has also commented on it in writing. This lack of certainty could open hopes about his return in an indeterminate future; but there will be time to think about that.

We wish to say thanks to the author of this post for this outstanding content
