It is true that we have not done in half measures for this edition. Barnums, sound system, food truck, sports demonstrations, Salle de la Manekine, the Esplanade Charles de Gaulle is busy in every corner. The festival opened its doors at 11:30 a.m. and the queue was already growing visibly. Pascal Reverte, director of Manekine displays a happy face. “Finally ! The public was waiting for this with impatience. We must not forget that we have been implementing a youth policy for several years. But the pandemic has been there and this has plagued the event in recent years. The emergence festival is a great tool in this direction», evokes the cultural director. Likewise, Theresa Dias and Arnaud Dumontier are rediscovering and carrying the festival with undisguised happiness.

Street dances, battles, bands and tributes
Street dances, battles, groups, tributes follow one another throughout the day. And this festival aims to break down intergenerational barriers. The bet in this direction is also successful. “It is essential to federate around culture and youth and that is what we want. Youth and culture are two priorities and we are committed to implementing them in all their forms. The spirit of Emergences 2022, is the association of different practices whether amateur, professional with Manekine workshops and the local associative fabric. A festive time that celebrates our diversity and what brings us together“says with conviction Teresa Dias, vice-president of the CCPOH in charge of cultural action.

An event on the way to becoming unmissable
The event coincides with the proximity of the music festival. It is not a coincidence. Indeed, it seems more difficult to reach a large audience on the very day of the music festival on June 21. “For large cities, this seems more obvious. We, we think that the Emergences can be part of this straight line of the music festival and therefore be held the last weekend of June», specifies Arnaud Dumontier, president of the CCPOH.
A way of asserting that the Emergences will take hold over time to become an unmissable event.
The Emergences are open to all, with free entry, this Sunday, June 19 on the esplanade in front of the Manekine.
Note that a tribute will be paid at 3.30 p.m. by the troop led in its time by one of the pillars of Manekine, Karim Barrouche, who tragically died in 2019.
