For the real return of the Fête de la Musique, without a mask and without a curfew, the editorial staff has selected five events in Valenciennes. From Saturday to Tuesday, here is an eclectic but non-exhaustive list, which a priori, at least we hope, should satisfy the most difficult ears.

Whispers of the Himalayas: KYAB YUL-SA trio
A musical and visual journey retraces the course of the singer and musician Lobsang Chonzor, from his Tibetan childhood to his exile in Valenciennes, where he took root and founded a family, through all his inspirations born from meetings with his stage partners. In the company of Margaux Liénard, carrying his side of Scandinavian and North European musical influences, and Julien Lahaye, experienced for his part in the skilful play of Persian rhythms, he deploys in trio a fruitful exchange based on a common musical language, fruit of interbreeding.
Tuesday, June 21 at 8:30 p.m. at the Phénix room in Valenciennes.

Ennio by Guiseppe Tornatore, a documentary on the master of spaghetti music
For the music festival, the Ciné-Club de Valenciennes has put an eminently popular composer at the head of the gondola. It will screen “Ennio”, the documentary by Giuseppe Tornatore, director of Cinema Paradiso, and who therefore knows, when it comes to the love of cinema. And what would the latter be without film music?
The doc retraces the career of the Italian artist Ennio Morricone, marked by the composition of music for films that have become cults (Once upon a time in the West, The Incorruptibles, Mission, The 8 Bastards...). The preview screening will be the only one in Valenciennes and therefore the only chance to discover this film in the comfort of a dark (and air-conditioned) room.
