If you have strolled around Place Kléber in recent days, you may have seen white arbors growing and a large stage. Spoiler: it’s a big, free concert by the Tambours du Bronx collective. Second spoiler: this concert will be held as part of the Festiv’Adèle, which will take place on October 8. We tell you more.
In recent years, Place Kléber has not shone with its extraordinary concerts. Nevertheless, after the performance full of feathers at the end of the FARSe, we have to believe that the central square of Strasbourg wants to give itself a facelift. Latest example: a concert by the group Les Tambours du Bronx, scheduled for this Saturday, October 8.
A free Bronx Drums concert
A concert by the Tambours du Bronx in Strasbourg is a small event. Traveling the world for more than 25 years, the group continues to transmit its energetic and cutting music, mixing industrial rock, techno and afrobeat, modeled with synthetic sounds and samples.
They rocked many stages, opened for Jimmy Page and Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) and KoRn, and were remembered after joint shows with Sépultura in Rio de Janeiro. In short, heavy, and we’re not just talking about the sound of the drums.
This Saturday, October 8, Strasbourg residents will have the chance to see the Tambours du Bronx in concert, completely free of charge. From 5 p.m., Place Kléber will be ablaze with a mixture of raw, perfectly coordinated sounds, and the music will certainly resonate throughout Strasbourg, bringing with it the echoes of solidarity.
Festiv’Adèle, a feast organized around solidarity
The concert is part of a larger event: a festival around solidarity, possibilities and mutual aid for the most vulnerable people. Organized by the Adèle de Glaubitz association, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, it will begin with a festive stroll through the streets of Strasbourg, to the rhythm of percussion and stilt walkers with the Pinto brass band and percussion from Mill & une Bat, the Bombatuc and Alsace Percussion school.
Beginning at Place de la Bourse, the procession will move slowly and in a good mood towards Place Kléber, where Strasbourgeoises and Strasbourgeois will be able to enjoy a small village set up for the occasion.
On the afternoon program: art, sport, games and even a sensory tunnel to awaken your senses. We can mention the creation of a giant fresco, the manufacture of musical instruments, or even sporting challenges such as adapted basketball or rowing.. Finally, Strasbourg residents who like to play can have fun with a giant puzzle or game of goose. All this before the concert that will get people moving in the cottages.
This Saturday, October 8, Festiv’Adèle will take over Place Kléber to bring together Strasbourg residents around solidarity. A feast full of music and good humor, which will end with a concert that will certainly remain within the walls of the city.
