CYBERHARASSMENT – A distress call. The French singer Hoshi challenged the government on Twitter this Thursday, January 13 to help it deal with cyberbullying campaign which she has suffered for several years now.

The 26-year-old artist revealed a sample of the homophobic, misogynistic, grossophobic messages and death threats from Internet users that she regularly receives. “In France, you can threaten people, make homophobic remarks and go out freely in the street because justice does nothing”she denounced.

A message that sadly echoes the news of Thursday when an investigation was opened after the suicide of Lucas, a 13-year-old teenager, Saturday January 7. According to his family, he was a victim of bullying school and homophobia in his middle school located in Golbey, near Epinal.

Mathilde Gerner, alias Hoshi, filed a complaint on March 11, 2020 for harassment and death threatsafter a wave of lesbophobic comments online targeting his performance at the 35th Victoires de la Musique.

Nominated in the category “scene revelation”, Hoshi had kissed on stage during the evening of February 14 a dancer after having interpreted her title Amour censure which denounces homophobia and the “Manif pour tous” in France.

One ” psychological and physical hell »

Despite the avalanche of unbearable threats and insults she has received, Hoshi explains that only “one person will potentially be summoned to a ‘trial’ in June”. These threats have already pushed her to move for the first time because her address had been revealed on social networks.

“It has prevented me from living fully for 3 years. I lived a psychological and physical hell: 28 days of ITT. I was scared every time I went on stage, scared of being attacked, I have never been out on the street alone since then, I lost 10 kilos »testifies the singer.

“I, who love my country so much, have just lost faith in justice. I have a message for the State: save us while there is still time, don’t wait for things to end badly before taking an interest in the files. »she calls for help.
